Description

  • 1/8 tsp ground allspice

Additional Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 chipotle pepper in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat Olive Oil: In a medium saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Saute Aromatics: Add chopped onion and cook until soft. Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, cinnamon, cloves, and allspice; cook until fragrant.
  3. Add Remaining Ingredients: Mix in tomato paste, peanut butter, cocoa powder, and brown sugar. Stir well to form a paste. Add chipotle pepper and chicken broth, whisk until smooth.
  4. Simmer: Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Serve: Use immediately or store in the fridge for up to 5 days.
