Description

These Airfryer Honey Goat Cheese Balls are a delightful appetizer featuring a creamy and tangy goat cheese center with a crispy coating, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with nuts for the perfect balance of flavors and textures.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cheese Balls:

  • 8 ounces goat cheese (softened)
  • 2 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (optional)

For Breading:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs (beaten)
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs

Other:

  • olive oil spray
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans (toasted, optional)
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix the Cheese: In a medium bowl, combine the goat cheese, cream cheese, and thyme until smooth.
  2. Shape the Balls: Roll the cheese mixture into 1-inch balls and place on a parchment-lined tray. Freeze for at least 20 minutes to firm up.
  3. Breading Station: Prepare three shallow bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. Roll each cheese ball in flour, then egg, and finally breadcrumbs, pressing gently to coat evenly.
  4. Air Fry: Place the breaded cheese balls in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Lightly spray with olive oil and air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 7 to 9 minutes until golden and crispy.
  5. Finish and Serve: Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with nuts and parsley, and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can prepare the cheese balls in advance and freeze them until you’re ready to air fry them.
  • For a spicy kick, consider adding a pinch of chili flakes to the honey drizzle for extra flavor.
  • Serve these delicious cheese balls with crackers or fresh fruit for a delightful appetizer spread.
