Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Sauce
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 (5.2 oz) package Boursin garlic and herb cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the chicken in the creamy sauce.
- Season Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper to enhance flavor.
- Sear Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-6 minutes on each side until they are golden brown. Remove the chicken and set aside.
- Prepare Sauce: In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chicken broth, heavy cream, and Boursin garlic and herb cheese. Stir continuously until the cheese has melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning some of the rich sauce over each piece to coat well.
- Bake Chicken: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through, reaching an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and sprinkle the freshly chopped parsley over the chicken for a bright and fresh finish before serving.
Notes
- Ensure the chicken breasts are of even thickness for uniform cooking.
- Use an oven-safe skillet to avoid transferring the chicken to a different dish for baking.
- Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer to guarantee the chicken is fully cooked.
- Substitute heavy cream with half-and-half for a lighter sauce, though it may be less rich.
- Additional herbs such as thyme or rosemary can be added for extra flavor.
