Marinade:
- 1½ lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 3 garlic cloves (minced)
- 2 teaspoons garam masala
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ½ teaspoon turmeric
- ½ teaspoon salt
Sauce:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion (finely chopped)
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
- ¾ cup heavy cream
- fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, and salt. Add the chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
- Cook the chicken: Brown the chicken in oil, then set aside. Sauté onion, add spices, tomato sauce, and simmer. Return chicken to pan, add cream, and simmer until thick.

- For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk and coconut yogurt.
