Description

Marinade:

  • lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs (cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Sauce:

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • ¾ cup heavy cream
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, garam masala, cumin, paprika, turmeric, and salt. Add the chicken and marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Cook the chicken: Brown the chicken in oil, then set aside. Sauté onion, add spices, tomato sauce, and simmer. Return chicken to pan, add cream, and simmer until thick.
