Chocolate Ganache:

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

  • Fresh raspberries
  • Chocolate shavings
  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Combine wet ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk the sugars, oil, eggs, and vanilla. Stir in the buttermilk, followed by the hot water or coffee.
  4. Combine wet and dry: Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until smooth. Toss raspberries with flour and fold into the batter.
  5. Bake: Divide batter between pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes. Cool before assembling.
