Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare the cake: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Prepare the batter: In a separate bowl, beat sugar and eggs until fluffy. Add buttermilk, oil, and vanilla. Gradually mix in dry ingredients, then add hot water or coffee.
