Ingredients
Scale
Pie Crust
- 1 pie crust
Filling
- 2 cups pumpkin puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) to prepare for baking the pie.
- Prepare crust: Roll out the pie crust and carefully place it into a pie dish, making sure it fits snugly without air bubbles.
- Mix filling: In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, heavy cream, brown sugar, granulated sugar, eggs, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and salt. Mix thoroughly until the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
- Fill crust: Pour the pumpkin filling mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it out evenly.
- Initial bake: Bake the pie at 425°F (220°C) for 15 minutes to help set the crust and start cooking the filling.
- Reduce temperature and continue baking: Lower the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and bake for an additional 40-50 minutes, or until the filling is set and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool pie: Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely before serving to let the filling fully set and flavors develop.
Notes
- For best results, use a homemade or store-bought unbaked pie crust that fits a 9-inch pie dish.
- Allow the pie to cool completely to room temperature or chill before serving for cleaner slices.
- Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
- Optional: Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
- Make sure not to overbake; the filling should be just set and slightly jiggly in the center.
