Description

Indulge in the delightful combination of cinnamon and sugar with these homemade cruffins. A cross between a croissant and a muffin, these sweet treats are easy to make and perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Cinnamon Sugar Mixture:

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Additional Toppings:

  • Additional melted butter and cinnamon sugar for topping (optional)
  • Nonstick cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, unroll the crescent dough into a rectangle and pinch the seams to seal.
  3. Add Flavors: Brush the dough with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the entire surface.
  4. Roll Up: Starting from the short end, roll the dough up tightly into a log.
  5. Slice and Shape: Slice the log in half lengthwise to expose the layers. Roll each half into a spiral with the cut sides facing out, tucking the end underneath. Place each spiral into a muffin cup.
  6. Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
  7. Finish: Let cool slightly, then brush with more melted butter and sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • You can also add a thin layer of jam or Nutella before rolling for a fun twist.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes to refresh.
