Ingredients
Scale
Dough:
- 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough or puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Cinnamon Sugar Mixture:
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Additional Toppings:
- Additional melted butter and cinnamon sugar for topping (optional)
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Preheat and Prepare: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a standard muffin tin with nonstick cooking spray.
- Roll Out the Dough: On a lightly floured surface, unroll the crescent dough into a rectangle and pinch the seams to seal.
- Add Flavors: Brush the dough with melted butter, then evenly sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the entire surface.
- Roll Up: Starting from the short end, roll the dough up tightly into a log.
- Slice and Shape: Slice the log in half lengthwise to expose the layers. Roll each half into a spiral with the cut sides facing out, tucking the end underneath. Place each spiral into a muffin cup.
- Bake: Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden brown and puffed.
- Finish: Let cool slightly, then brush with more melted butter and sprinkle with additional cinnamon sugar if desired. Serve warm.
Notes
- You can also add a thin layer of jam or Nutella before rolling for a fun twist.
- Best enjoyed fresh but can be reheated in the oven for a few minutes to refresh.
