Ingredients
Scale
Dry Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp salt
Wet Ingredients
- 2 large eggs (room temperature)
- 1 cup whole milk (or almond/oat milk)
- 1/2 cup melted butter (cooled)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Topping
- 1/4 cup brown sugar (light)
- Additional 1 tsp ground cinnamon (mixed with the brown sugar)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan thoroughly to prevent sticking.
- Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt until evenly combined.
- Mix Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, thoroughly mix the melted butter, eggs, whole milk (or alternative milk), and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and homogenous.
- Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gently pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix carefully until just combined. Avoid overmixing to keep the bread tender.
- Prepare Cinnamon Sugar: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle half of this mixture into the batter and reserve the other half for topping later.
- Pour Batter and Add Topping: Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan, then sprinkle the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top of the batter before baking.
- Bake the Bread: Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Serve: Allow the bread to cool slightly in the pan before slicing. Enjoy warm or at room temperature for the best flavor and texture.
Notes
- Substitute almond or oat milk for dairy milk to make it dairy-free.
- Room temperature eggs promote better mixing and texture.
- Avoid overmixing the batter to keep the bread light and tender.
- Use a toothpick or cake tester to check for doneness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
