Description

This Classic Christmas Fudge is a rich, creamy, and irresistibly chocolatey treat perfect for the holiday season. Made with semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and a touch of vanilla, this easy-to-make fudge is a festive favorite that can be customized with nuts and holiday sprinkles for extra flair.

Ingredients

Scale

Fudge Base

  • 3 cups semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Optional Add-ins

  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
  • Holiday sprinkles for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides to easily lift the fudge out later.
  2. Melt Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the semisweet chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and unsalted butter. Stir continuously until the mixture is completely melted and smooth, creating a creamy base.
  3. Add Flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, salt, and if desired, the chopped walnuts or pecans to add texture and nutty flavor.
  4. Set in Pan: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly with a spatula to create a smooth surface.
  5. Decorate: Sprinkle holiday-themed sprinkles on top if you want to add a festive touch.
  6. Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 2 hours or until it is firm to the touch and fully set.
  7. Serve: Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan, then cut it into 36 small squares before serving.

Notes

  • For a peppermint twist, substitute 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract for the vanilla extract.
  • Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
