Instructions
- Preheat the oven and prepare ramekins: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Butter four 6-ounce ramekins and dust with granulated sugar.
- Make the base: Melt butter in a saucepan, whisk in flour, then slowly add warm milk to form a paste. Cook until thickened, then stir in vanilla.
- Prepare the egg mixture: Whisk in egg yolks one at a time. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites with cream of tartar and sugar until stiff peaks form.
- Combine: Gently fold egg whites into the yolk mixture. Spoon into ramekins and bake.
- Bake: Bake for 13–15 minutes until puffed and golden.
- Serve: Dust with powdered sugar and serve immediately.
