Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 1 pound ground chicken
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
- 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Additional Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
- 4 slices tomato
- 4 leaves romaine lettuce
- 1/4 cup sliced cucumber
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, red onion, feta cheese, parsley, dill, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
- Shape the mixture into 4 even patties.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the burgers are golden brown.
- Toast the buns if desired.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading tzatziki sauce on the bottom bun, placing a chicken patty on top, and layering with tomato, lettuce, and cucumber. Cover with the top bun and serve warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, mix a little lemon zest into the chicken mixture.
- These burgers can also be grilled outdoors over medium heat.
- Serve with a side of Greek salad or roasted potatoes for a complete meal.
