Description

These Greek Chicken Burgers are a flavorful twist on traditional burgers, featuring the fresh Mediterranean flavors of feta, dill, and tzatziki. Juicy ground chicken patties are paired with tangy tzatziki sauce and crisp veggies for a delicious meal.

Main Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely diced
  • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Additional Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 whole wheat burger buns
  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 4 slices tomato
  • 4 leaves romaine lettuce
  • 1/4 cup sliced cucumber

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, red onion, feta cheese, parsley, dill, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  2. Shape the mixture into 4 even patties.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for 5 to 6 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F and the burgers are golden brown.
  4. Toast the buns if desired.
  5. Assemble the burgers by spreading tzatziki sauce on the bottom bun, placing a chicken patty on top, and layering with tomato, lettuce, and cucumber. Cover with the top bun and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, mix a little lemon zest into the chicken mixture.
  • These burgers can also be grilled outdoors over medium heat.
