Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

Topping:

  • 1 large egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon everything bagel seasoning (or sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or coarse salt)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dough: In a mixing bowl, combine flour and Greek yogurt until a dough forms.
  3. Knead and shape: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 2 to 3 minutes until smooth. Divide into 4 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and shape into a bagel.
  4. Prepare for baking: Place the shaped bagels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with bagel seasoning.
  5. Bake: Bake for 22 to 25 minutes, until the bagels are golden brown.
  6. Cool and serve: Let the bagels cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • If you don’t have self-rising flour, make your own by mixing 1 cup all-purpose flour with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • These bagels taste best fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
