Description

Learn how to make delicious Greek yogurt bagels with this easy recipe. These homemade bagels are made with just two main ingredients and are perfect for a healthy breakfast or snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough:

  • 1 cup self-rising flour
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt

Additional:

  • 1 large egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • Optional toppings such as sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything bagel seasoning

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare baking sheet: Preheat the oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Mix dough: In a medium mixing bowl, combine self-rising flour and Greek yogurt. Stir until a shaggy dough forms, then knead on a lightly floured surface for 2–3 minutes until smooth.
  3. Shape bagels: Divide dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion into a rope about 8 inches long and form into a bagel shape, pinching ends to seal. Place bagels on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Top and bake: Brush tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with desired toppings. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • If you don’t have self-rising flour, substitute with 1 cup all-purpose flour mixed with 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt.
  • These bagels are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for longer storage.
