Description

Enjoy the savory and satisfying flavors of grilled halloumi cheese with this easy recipe. Halloumi, a semi-hard cheese with a high melting point, is perfect for grilling and pairs wonderfully with a squeeze of lemon and fresh parsley.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients:

  • 8 oz halloumi cheese (sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • lemon wedges for serving

Garnish:

  • chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Grill: Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Prepare the Halloumi: Pat the halloumi slices dry with paper towels. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and season with black pepper.
  3. Grill the Halloumi: Place the slices on the hot grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden grill marks appear and the cheese is warmed through but still holds its shape.
  4. Serve: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of chopped parsley, if desired.

Notes

  • Halloumi does not melt when grilled, making it perfect for high-heat cooking.
  • Try serving with grilled vegetables, in wraps, or over salads.
  • For extra flavor, marinate the slices in olive oil, herbs, and lemon juice before grilling.
