Scale
Main Ingredients:
- 8 oz halloumi cheese (sliced into 1/2-inch thick pieces)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- freshly ground black pepper to taste
- lemon wedges for serving
Garnish:
- chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat a grill pan or outdoor grill to medium-high heat.
- Prepare the Halloumi: Pat the halloumi slices dry with paper towels. Brush both sides lightly with olive oil and season with black pepper.
- Grill the Halloumi: Place the slices on the hot grill and cook for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden grill marks appear and the cheese is warmed through but still holds its shape.
- Serve: Remove from heat and transfer to a serving platter. Serve immediately with lemon wedges and a sprinkle of chopped parsley, if desired.
Notes
- Halloumi does not melt when grilled, making it perfect for high-heat cooking.
- Try serving with grilled vegetables, in wraps, or over salads.
- For extra flavor, marinate the slices in olive oil, herbs, and lemon juice before grilling.
