Description
A simple and healthy recipe for crispy air fryer sliced potatoes coated with olive oil and flavorful spices, perfect as a delicious vegan and gluten-free side dish.
Ingredients
Scale
Potatoes
- 3 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Garnish (Optional)
- Chopped parsley or grated Parmesan
Instructions
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and allow it to heat up while you prepare the potatoes.
- Slice and Soak Potatoes: Wash and thinly slice the potatoes evenly using a sharp knife or mandoline. Place the slices in a bowl of cold water and soak for 10–15 minutes to remove excess starch, which helps achieve crispiness.
- Drain and Dry: Drain the potato slices thoroughly and pat them dry with paper towels to remove all moisture.
- Toss with Seasonings: In a large bowl, combine the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all slices are evenly coated.
- Arrange and Air Fry: Place the seasoned potato slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding. Air fry for 12–15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Serve: Once golden brown and crispy, transfer the potatoes to a plate. Sprinkle with chopped parsley or grated Parmesan if desired, and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket to allow hot air circulation.
- Sweet potatoes can be used instead for a naturally sweet variation.
