Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 14 ounces kielbasa sausage, sliced into 1/4-inch rounds
Vegetables
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups green cabbage, shredded
- 3 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, thinly sliced or diced
Spices and Liquids
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 cup chicken broth or water
Garnish
- Chopped parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the kielbasa: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced kielbasa and cook for 4–5 minutes until browned on both sides. Remove kielbasa from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté the onion and garlic: In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Cook the potatoes: Add the sliced potatoes, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika to the skillet. Pour in the chicken broth, cover the skillet, and let the potatoes cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
- Add cabbage and kielbasa: Stir in the shredded cabbage and return the kielbasa to the skillet. Toss everything together, cover again, and cook for another 5–7 minutes, until the cabbage is wilted and all ingredients are heated through.
- Finish and serve: Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Garnish with chopped parsley before serving for a fresh touch.
