Description

Orange Fluff Salad is a classic American no-bake dessert featuring a refreshing combination of orange gelatin, whipped topping, cottage cheese, and fruit. Its light, fluffy texture and sweet citrus flavor make it a perfect chilled treat for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Gelatin Mixture

  • 1 package (3 ounces) orange gelatin mix
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1/2 cup cold water

Salad Base

  • 1 container (8 ounces) whipped topping, thawed
  • 1 cup cottage cheese

Fruit and Add-ins

  • 1 can (11 ounces) mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup crushed pineapple, drained

Instructions

  1. Dissolve Gelatin: In a large bowl, dissolve the orange gelatin mix in the boiling water and stir until completely dissolved.
  2. Add Cold Water and Chill: Add the cold water to the gelatin mixture and mix well. Refrigerate for about 15 to 20 minutes until it begins to slightly thicken but is not fully set.
  3. Combine Creamy Ingredients: Fold in the cottage cheese and whipped topping until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Add Fruits and Marshmallows: Gently stir in the drained mandarin oranges, mini marshmallows, and drained crushed pineapple until evenly combined.
  5. Refrigerate to Set: Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until the salad is chilled and fluffy.
  6. Serve: Stir lightly before serving and spoon into bowls.

Notes

  • Make sure the fruit is well drained to prevent the salad from becoming watery.
  • For extra flavor, you can add shredded coconut or chopped pecans.
  • This dish is best served chilled.
