Description

A deliciously creamy and festive Pumpkin Trifle featuring layers of spiced pumpkin cream, pound cake cubes, toasted pecans, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. Perfect for fall gatherings, this no-bake dessert combines warm autumn spices with rich textures for a crowd-pleasing treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Pumpkin Cream Mixture

  • 2 cups pumpkin puree
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

Other Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream, whipped
  • 1 package (14 ounces) pound cake or sponge cake, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
  • 1/2 cup caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pumpkin Mixture: In a medium bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, and brown sugar. Stir until the mixture is smooth and the spices are evenly incorporated.
  2. Mix Cream Cheese: In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  3. Combine Pumpkin and Cream Cheese Mixtures: Gently fold the pumpkin mixture into the cream cheese mixture until fully blended, creating a smooth pumpkin cream.
  4. Layer the Trifle: In a large trifle dish, place one-third of the cake cubes evenly at the bottom. Spread one-third of the pumpkin cream mixture over the cake layer. Sprinkle with some toasted pecans and drizzle with caramel sauce.
  5. Repeat Layers: Repeat the layering process two more times, ending with the pumpkin cream layer on top.
  6. Add Whipped Cream and Garnish: Spread the whipped cream evenly over the final pumpkin cream layer. Garnish with the remaining toasted pecans and a final drizzle of caramel sauce for decoration.
  7. Chill: Refrigerate the assembled trifle for at least 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the dessert to set before serving.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought whipped cream for convenience.
  • Substitute pecans with walnuts if preferred.
  • For a lighter version, use reduced-fat cream cheese and whipped topping as alternatives.
