Description

This Spicy Avocado Dip is a creamy, flavorful appetizer perfect for parties or a quick snack. Made with ripe avocados, Greek yogurt, jalapeño, and a blend of spices, it offers a delightful combination of heat and creaminess. Enjoy it with tortilla chips, fresh veggies, or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Ingredients

Scale

Dip Ingredients

  • 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
  • 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeño, seeded and minced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes for extra heat

Instructions

  1. Mash Avocados: In a medium bowl, mash the avocados until smooth but still slightly chunky to maintain a good texture.
  2. Mix Ingredients: Stir in the plain Greek yogurt, lime juice, minced jalapeño, garlic, cumin, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Add Cilantro and Heat: Fold in the chopped fresh cilantro and crushed red pepper flakes if using for extra heat.
  4. Adjust & Serve: Taste the dip and adjust seasoning as needed. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for tacos, sandwiches, or grilled meats.

Notes

  • For a creamier dip, use a food processor to blend all ingredients.
  • You can substitute lime juice with lemon juice if preferred.
  • The dip is best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
  • To prevent browning, press plastic wrap directly onto the surface of the dip before refrigerating.
