Description

This Stir-Fried Shrimp and Broccoli recipe is a quick and flavorful Asian-inspired dish perfect for a healthy weeknight meal. Succulent shrimp, crisp broccoli, and a savory sauce come together in a delicious stir-fry that pairs perfectly with steamed rice.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Stir-Fry Sauce:

  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil

For the Stir-Fry:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
  • Cooked rice for serving
  • Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Stir-Fry Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, cornstarch, water, and sesame oil. Set aside.
  2. Stir-Fry the Ingredients: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a skillet. Stir-fry broccoli until tender, then set aside. Cook shrimp in remaining oil, add garlic and ginger. Return broccoli, pour in sauce, and cook until heated through.
  3. Serve: Serve hot over rice, garnished with sesame seeds or green onions.

Notes

  • You can blanch the broccoli for 1–2 minutes for a softer texture.
  • Swap shrimp with chicken or tofu if desired.
  • For extra spice, add chili garlic sauce or crushed red pepper.
