Ingredients
Scale
Wrap and Filling
- 1 large flour tortilla or wrap (10-inch)
- 1 (5-ounce) can of tuna, drained
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped celery
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon mustard (any kind)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Cheese
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup shredded cheese or 1–2 slices cheese
Cooking
- 1/2 teaspoon neutral oil (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Make the Tuna Salad: In a small bowl, combine the drained tuna, mayonnaise, sweet pickle relish, finely chopped celery, onion, and mustard. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Assemble the Wrap: If the tortilla feels stiff, soften it by microwaving with a damp paper towel for 15–20 seconds. Lay the tortilla flat on your work surface. Spread cheese over half of the tortilla. Spoon the prepared tuna salad evenly over the cheese, keeping the edges clear. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll it tightly into a burrito shape.
- Cook the Wrap: Heat the neutral oil in a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the wrap seam-side down in the skillet to seal it. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula to ensure even crisping and melting of the cheese, until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
- Serve: Remove the wrap from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve warm for a comforting meal.
Notes
- Use any cheese that melts well such as cheddar, mozzarella, or Swiss for best results.
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes to the tuna salad.
- Ensure the pan is on medium-low heat to avoid burning the wrap while allowing the cheese to melt properly.
- Microwaving the tortilla briefly helps prevent cracking when rolling.
