Ingredients
Scale
Slushie Ingredients
- 10 cups Seedless Watermelon Cubes, frozen for at least 24 hours
- 2–4 tbsp Maple Syrup
- Juice of 1 large Lime
- 1/4 cup Fresh Mint or Basil leaves, loosely packed (Optional but recommended)
- 1 1/2 cups Filtered Water
Instructions
- Defrost Watermelon: Let the frozen watermelon chunks sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes to slightly soften, making them easier to blend.
- Combine Ingredients: Add the partially defrosted watermelon, 2 tablespoons of maple syrup, lime juice, fresh mint or basil leaves, and filtered water to a high-speed blender.
- Blend to Slushie Consistency: Pulse the blender initially until the watermelon starts breaking up, then blend continuously until the mixture reaches a thick, slushie texture.
- Adjust Sweetness: Taste the slushie and add more maple syrup if you prefer it sweeter; blend briefly to mix.
- Adjust Thickness: If the slushie is too thick, add extra filtered water in small increments and blend to reach desired consistency.
- Serve: Pour the slushie evenly into 4 glasses, garnish as desired, serve immediately, and enjoy your refreshing treat!
Notes
- Freezing the watermelon for at least 24 hours ensures a perfectly icy texture.
- Use seedless watermelon to avoid any bitterness or texture issues from seeds.
- The fresh mint or basil is optional but adds a wonderful herbal note to the slushie.
- Adjust maple syrup based on the natural sweetness of the watermelon and your taste preference.
- If you don’t have a high-speed blender, pulse in short bursts and stir between pulses for even blending.
